Scenic Victory Drive in Ardsley Park
ARDSLEY PARK
Ardsley Park, a 'National Historic Landmark District' is only about a 10 minute drive from Downtown Savannah. It was developed in 1909 by a small group of prominent businessmen as Savannah's 'first automobile subdivision.' It is marked by the impressive Belgian block walls and Spanish-style roofed pillars at its entrances.
Ardsley Park was laid-out similarly to the original plans of Savannah's founder, General James Edward Oglethorpe, but with 6 squares instead of 24. The intention was to draw wealthy and prominent families from out-of-state but, in actuality, it was the 'wealthy and prominent' of Savannah that first made Ardsley Park their home.
Homes in the neighborhood range in price from about $250,000 for small, cozy, and charming cottages of the period, to well over the million dollar mark for its stately mansions.
Ardsley Park has become particulary trendy and popular in the last few years to the young professionals because of its proximity to the Downtown Business district and its more affordable housing prices. It is also considered 'midtown' so it is highly convenient to most every amenitie Savannah has to offer.
If you're interested in doing a search for homes in this part of town, click on the top navigation button, 'Search the Entire MLS!' and use 'Savannah' in your search criteria. You can also add in your criteria, Ardsley Park, as the advertised subdivision you are searching in.
